You can use the Live Update feature in SigmaNEST to upgrade to a newer version of the software. Using Live Update eliminates the need to manually uninstall your current version, and streamlines the installation process.
Note: If you want to test the new SigmaNEST version before using it in production, you should complete a parallel installation instead.
Checking for new releases
New releases are announced here on the Knowledge Base, and sometimes also through newsletters and blog posts.
If you're a community member with a current maintenance subscription, you can follow the Announcements topic to be emailed about new releases.
Whenever you open Live Update in SigmaNEST, you'll also see any available versions that you can upgrade to.
Note: Upgrades are included in the cost of the maintenance subscription. If your subscription has expired, you'll need to renew it before upgrading. Visit our website to learn more.
Using Live Update
- Open your current version of SigmaNEST and go to the Tools Help tab.
Click Live Update (located in the Help group).
- If Admin permission is requested, click Yes to allow it.
- Next, you will be prompted to close SigmaNEST. Make sure that all your current work is saved, then close SigmaNEST and click Retry on the prompt.
The Live Update window will now open, displaying a list of available SigmaNEST updates. Select a version to install, then click Install Updates.
Note: If you are running a proxy server, you'll need to select Proxy Setup first to add the information needed to contact your proxy server.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
